Abu Dhabi residents get another option to present civic grievances
Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi residents will have one more venue to present their grievances on civic issues. Department of Municipal Affairs (DMA) of Abu Dhabi government will set up a customer relationship system, 'Citizens care system', to address the public grievances on municipal affairs, senior officials told Gulf News on Wednesday.
"The system will receive feedbacks and complaints from residents which are not solved by municipalities," said Hamad O. Al Sheryani, Executive Director, Support Services Sector at DMA.
"We will appoint a customer-relationship manager very soon who will control the system," he said. "Each municipalities in the emirate – Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Western region - will have their own public grievance system. But, there may be some issues which are not solved by the municipalities and people can take them up with DMA's public grievance system," Al Sheryani told Gulf News on the sidelines of an interaction with media to make a presentation on the functioning of DMA.
DMA will conduct annual survey to assess the standard of municipal services, said Al Sheryani. All these steps will fulfil our aim to make Abu Dhabi a better place to live and invest, he said.
It will also focus on safety of buildings being constructed in the emirate, said Denis Burke, Advisor of DMA. "New rules and regulations will be made for the same.''
The officials said DMA will also focus on attracting talented Emiratis employees.
