800 take to streets over quarters

Dubai: Around 800 workers from a construction company protested on Tuesday against bad living conditions.

The workers refused to go back to work unless the company met their demands to supply water and electricity and improve their labour accommodation.

Another problem is that sewage water is not being properly drained from their accommodation.

Negotiations between the general manager of the company and the workers are underway to convince them to return to work and that their demands will be met.
