21 firms found employing illegal workers
Dubai: The Ministry of Labour has caught 21 companies across the country employing illegal workers as part of its inspection campaign to crack down on violators after the end of the amnesty.
Maher Al Oabed, Head of the inspection unit at the ministry, told Gulf News, that some 21 out of 311 inspected companies across the country were caught employing illegal workers.
"We have intensified our inspection visits and we will be hard on companies that do not adhere by the rules," said Al Oabed.

The violating companies were penalised by having their transactions stopped with the ministry and they were category downgraded.
The Ministry yesterday started a fierce inspection campaign across the country to crack down on violators and the heads of inspection units in both Dubai and Abu Dhabi are to take part in the inspection visits, according to Al Oabed.
