Two more Xperias are joining Sony’s smartphone line-up. The 4.6-inch SP (4G LTE) and the 4.3-inch L. Both Android-powered devices come with near field communication and something Sony calls Stamina mode for extended battery life. The Xperia L will hit shop shelves in May while the Xperia SP will be available in July in the UAE. No word on prices yet.
HP is targeting business users with its newly-launched Elitepad 900. The 10.1-inch hybrid between a tablet and laptop is powered by Windows 8. And, because business people tend to like powerful things — unlike us mortal souls — it will be available in two variants: 32GB and 64GB. The 8MP rear camera, rare among tablets, will also record HD videos, as business people tend to do. Some niceties include accessories like a docking station, a keyboard cover which also comes with additional USB and HDMI ports and a HP executive pen for scribbling notes that can be converted to text — but all at additional cost.
They’re the coolest, chic, geek things to have, so Android users will be pleased to know the sleep and step tracker Up by Jawbone now speaks their language. The fitness gadget, which was launched two years ago and then relaunched after a bit of an improvement, was only previously available for iOS users. The Dh477 tracker will be available officially in the Middle East soon. If you can’t wait, you can always go to: jawbone.com
