One iPad free to a lucky shopper every hour at Jumbo

Dubai: In celebration of its 16-year partnership with Gitex Shopper, Jumbo Electronics, the Dubai-based technology retailer, is giving away a free iPad to a lucky shopper every hour at this year's Gitex.

The offer is part of the promotion that was launched yesterday offering shoppers the opportunity to win up to Dh500,000 in prizes featuring a range of products.

Gitex shoppers will also get the chance to win numerous scratch-and-win prizes.

Shoppers spending a minimum Dh500 at the Jumbo stalls and select Jumbo stores during the week-long Gitex Shopper are entitled to a raffle coupon for the hourly draw for the iPad.

Meanwhile, the Sony Ericsson stall at the Jumbo pavilion is offering shoppers the chance to win its new feature-packed mobile phone, the P990i every hour daily during the exhibition.

Shoppers buying a Sony Ericsson mobile phone will receive a raffle coupon to enter the Sony Ericsson raffle draws. If the purchase is worth Dh500 or more, the shopper will receive an extra coupon for the hourly laptop draw.

Arvind Nair, Jumbo Chief Executive, told Gulf News: "The stunning offer from Jumbo is the first of its kind, and is in keeping with the company's aim of doing something very different during Gitex, supported by innovative marketing and retail strategies. It is logical to make an impact on shoppers through this hourly raffle with a product category that is in great demand. Laptops constitute 25 per cent of our sales turnover, and are best-sellers during Gitex. We expect to double our laptop sales during Gitex."
