Dubai: Eros Group, a family-owned business of Badri Group, plans to have 30 showrooms in the UAE by the end of this year, at an investment of about Dh75 million. These will alos include new logistics centres.

Presently, the group has 22 outlets in the UAE and plans to add another eight.

"We plan to increase our occupied area from 180,000 square feet in 2007 to 350,000 square feet this year," Deepak J. Babani, CEO of Eros Group, said.

The group is setting up a leasing and logistics centre in Abu Dhabi.

"We have a 7,000 square feet centre there, which we plan to expand to 20,000 square feet using our own land. We also hope to set up centres in Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah, this year," said Babani.

"Rising demand has made it time-consuming to deliver products from our Dubai logistics centre. as such, we are planning logistics centres in other emirates," he said.

The group has four exclusive showrooms in Abu Dhabi and three outlets in the Abu Dhabi Co-operative Society. There are three exclusive showrooms in Sharjah and three in shopping malls.

"We had planned to open an outlet in Kenya this year, but due to the political crisis we are holding back," he said.

The group opened its first showroom in Tanzania three months back and plans to add more outlets in the country this year.

"Our plan to set up a warehouse and office in Jafza was delayed as the land registration took time. It is expected to be ready by August.

"The Jafza unit will be a multi-brand re-export centre where we will re-export other brands too," said Babani.
