Dubai: The UAE's Omar Behroozian will be joined by Novak Djokovic's younger brother Marko and legendary pole vaulter Sergei Bubka's son Sergei as the three wild cards at the Dubai Duty Free Men's Open here this week.
"Omar is a fellow Emirati and it is our obligation to look after our own players, while Marko got a wild card as he is supposed to team up with Novak in the men's doubles," Tournament Director Salah Tahlak told Gulf News after the official draw was held here yesterday.
"We had given Bubka a wild card last year and he did well, so we thought it would be nice that he gets in again this year."
The two doubles wild cards went to Kuwait's Mohammad Al Gareeb and Abdullah Magdas and the pairing of Tunisia's Malek Jaziri and Turkey's Marsel Ilhan.
