Team Dahees opened the season with a win in the opening round of the Traditional 22-foot Dhow Sailing
Dubai: Team Dahees opened the season with a win in the opening round of the Traditional 22-foot Dhow Sailing at the Dubai International Marine Club (DIMC) on Friday.
Dahees finished a mere 30 seconds ahead of Al Sharid, while former winner Al Zeeb came in third as the 2011-12 Watersports Season got under way.
In a fast and closely-fought race organised by the DIMC off the Mina Seyahi waters, it was Mohammad Abdullah Mohammad Al Marzouqi's brilliant skippering that won the day for Dahees as it rounded the first mark in the lead. "We got a good position on the start line and found clean air which helped us a lot. We were looking forward to sailing again and we are really happy to win," beamed the skipper.
