Sudanese runner wins silver in 800m in Beijing
Beijing: Sudanese runner, Ismail Ahmad Ismail, won the silver medal in the men's 800m on Saturday, his country's only medal this Olympic Games.
Ismail came in right behind gold medalist Wilfred Bungei of Kenya to win silver in 1:44.70 seconds.
A jubilant Ismail said he was happy with his performance, and dedicated his medal to the children of Iraq and Palestine, Al Arabiya reported on its website.
"I want to give this to my coach and my friends. This is an honor to the Sudan people and the Arab people,'' he said.
