Reeve, Flint and Al Azhari display fine form
Dubai: Adam Reeve, Karim Al Azhari and Andy Flint hogged the limelight at the opening Motor Sports Club Race Day at the Dubai Autodrome recently.
Reeve recorded the fastest time of 1:17.758 to win the Toyo GTi Cup, Al Azhari took the honours in the Gulf Radical race with the fastest lap of 1:02.265 and Flint was on top in the UAE National Superstock Bikes.
Race Day 1 was hosted by Dubai Autodrome at its 2.5- km Club Circuit. The first race day consisted of three championships the Toyo GTi Cup, Gulf Radical Cup and UAE National Superstock Bike. Each of the three events had two races.
In the Toyo GTi Cup, Reeve finished ahead of David Moran (1:18.533), while Costas Papantonis managed third (1:18.539).
The podium positions were the same for both races in the Toyo GTi Cup with Reeve dominating leaving second and third positions to Ryan Trutch and Yazan Rijlah.
In the Gulf Radical qualifying, Al Azhari qualified on pole with the fastest lap (1:02.265), while Robert Simpson (1:03.507) and Peter John Stanley (1:04.453) occupied the next two places.
Both races were dominated by Al Azhari as Simpson and Stanley finished second and third.
In the UAE National Superstock Bike, rider Flint marked the best time in qualifying. He led both races from the first corner and did not face any challenge to score two deserving wins.
Second place went to John Pienaar, while third went to John Hermann in the first race and Abdulaziz Bakr Binladin in the second.
