Abu Dhabi: AUH Motorsports, the new GulfSport Radical Cup race team based in Abu Dhabi, have announced that the reigning Gulf Radical Cup Champion and 2009 SR3 European Masters Champion Bassam Kronfli has re-joined team AUH Motorsports following a brief absence.

UAE-based driver Kronfli first joined the team at the Portimao track in The Algarve, Portugal, during round three of the 2009 Radical European Masters. Subsequent races with AUH at the Nurburgring, Silverstone and Dijon saw Kronfli win the championship in the SR3 class with co-driver Christophe Hissette. This outstanding achievement made AUH Motorsports the first Middle East team to win a major European Motorsports Championship.

Kronfli made the decision to return to the team following round one of the Gulfsport Radical Cup when he swapped his black SR8 for an AUH Motorsports SR3 in order to race with his European teammates Hissette and Grogor.

Carl Rolaston, chief executive of AUH Motorsports said of Kronfli's decision: "We are delighted to have Bassam back with us. He is very much part of the team and we look forward to a long and successful future racing together. With Kronfli, Hissette and Grogor each seeking to set the pace, Radical racing in the U.A.E is bound to become the race series to watch. Team orders? There are no team orders!"
