Hosts NIMS in good start against Millennium

Sharjah: Hosts New Indian Model School, Sharjah won against Millennium School, Dubai, 29-19 in their first round league match of the 11th NIMS under 13 Mini Basketball Tournament played at Al Shaab Indoor Basketball court, Sharjah.

Abhil Dev top scored with 13 points and Rishal Razack excelled with nine points. Last year's runners up Emirates National School, Sharjah also registered victory against Westminster School, Dubai in the mini league match, 33-22. Nikhil Mohammad (11 points) and James Jacob (10 points) were the main scorers for ENS Sharjah.

Jilson Lauzon and Brylle Navea contributed 8 and 6 points for Westminster school.

In the senior division match for the 19th NIMS Trophy tournament Oxford School, Dubai outplayed Central School, Dubai 41-21 and Westminster School; Dubai scored a 52-37 win against Winchester School, Dubai.

Earlier in the inaugural match of the tournament the host school's B team gave a tough fight against NIMS, Dubai before going down by a margin of seven points, 41-48. At half time NIMS, Dubai led 29-18 and at the end of the third quarter NIMS Sharjah B team came close by scoring 32 against 34 points.

For the winners Mohd Abdul Varis top scored with 13 points. Rizwin Razack and Ali Sirajudeen netted 14 and 13 points respectively for NIMS, Sharjah B team.
