Abu Alemarat favourite for Arabian Triple Crown
Abu Dhabi: The James Frazier Jr trained Abu Alemarat starts off as the favourite to win the Arabian Triple Crown Round Three, a 12-furlong Group 2 race for Purebred Arabians at the Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club race course.
The 4-year-old Al Nasr colt was rested for the Arabian Derby after smart victories in the First two rounds of the Triple Crown and with a small field of six horses competing in the Dh200,000 race, the night's feature race.
Danger
Ted Durcan has already been on the promising colt when he won over 11-furlongs twice last month and the extra furlong is unlikely to diminish the support from the followers of form tonight.
Abu Alemarat's danger, if any, is likely to come from Bareq under Royston French and Julian Smart's Quorman Des Vialettes.
The latter from Smart's yard in Oman will be under Tadhg O'Shea and after Smart's win in the Arabian Derby, could be fancied to cause the upset.
In the five-furlong 0-80 Handicap race preceding the feature event, Gillian Duffield has a smart pair in Tashreefat and Muthaaber.
Tashreefat, under Martin Dwyer, ran a creditable race before finishing second in the Liwa Oasis last week.
