Chasing him all the way was Turner
Dubai: Mark Yanchus recorded 40 points over the Majlis course to triumph in the Clubhouse trophy. In a hugely competitive championship, with a field of 88, it was a blistering back nine from Yanchus that stole the show.
The 18-handicapper only recorded 15 points over the more difficult outward nine of the Majlis course.
However a two over par gross 37 granted him 25 points on the back nine including birdies on the 13th and 15th holes.
Chasing him all the way to the title was Paul Turner who recorded 39 points, one of his best rounds of the season, the highlight being a birdie on the 396-yard 16th hole.
Bryan Wilson was a shot further back on 38 points resulting in a third place finish in the overall championship.
Tarek Zacharia and Kouroche Achtari both signed for 37 points to take winners and runner-up position in Division A (handicap 0-14).
Alistair McMillan recorded 35 points to clinch the Division B (handicap 15-24) title with Ishu Rupani second on 33 points.
