Dubai Creek Club to host junior championship
Dubai: Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club will again host the Daily Telegraph Junior Golf Championship from the 12th to 17th October.
After the success of the event in 2005, which saw the 2006 US Amateur Championship quarter finalist, Oliver Fisher walk away with the coveted title, the event returns for a second visit to the testing Dubai Creek course.
Over 1,000 clubs and some 45,000 juniors took part in the Championship this summer in the UK, however it is just 21 golfers -12 boys and 9 girls - that will be making the trip to Dubai to take part in the final.
David Webb, Head of Sponsorship at The Royal Bank of Scotland Group verified this when he commented "The beauty of this Championship is that it reaches young golfers of all levels across the UK and we are enthusiastic about anything that gets to the grassroots of the sport".
The week will see a practice round, a Challenge Match against the top UAE Junior golfers and an Am-Am competition with the event's local sponsors British Airways, Dubai Duty Free, Emaar and Pepsi.
