Curtis and Sandberg claim top honours in JDP event
Dubai: Matthew Curtis and Stephanie Sandberg shot creditable scores to take top positions in their respective divisions in the UAE Junior Development Programme (JDP) nine-hole Medal at the Jebel Ali Golf Resort & Spa course recently.
Carding a net 34, Curtis took the first place in the boys' 12-15 years division, while Jairus Anthony posted 38 net to take the second place in the same division. With a net score of 41, Osama Eslam was placed third.
Sandberg carded a net 38 to walk away with the top position in the girls' 12-15 years division, while Shloka Desai's net 41 got her the second place. Ifrah George carded a net 53 for the third place.
The under-11 division boys and girls proved that they are no less than their peers with Mathieu Sabbagh posting 35 net for the top position in the boys section, while Sana Tufail carded an impressive 32 net to take the honours in the girls section.
David Lyon with 37 net and Sam Zijderveld with 39 net took the second and the third place respectively in the boys' section while Diya Chopra with 43 net and Olivia Cook with 46 net were placed second and third in the girls section.
Striking the ball well off the tee, Bijan Barghi proved his might by winning the longest drive on hole 9 while Sam Zijderveld scored the nearest to the pin prize on hole 2.
