Bain's course record earns him joint lead
Dubai: Ross Bain shot a third round 67 to go alongside his first round of 70 and course record second round of 10 under par 62 to stand tied first in the inaugural Asian Tour International played over the Pattana Golf and Sports Resort in Thailand yesterday.
Bain stands at the top of the leaderboard with South Korea's 16-year-old Seung-yul Noh on 201 - 17 under par.
They are two shots ahead of third placed Wen-tang Lin of Chinese Taipei.
Suspension
Bain scored an impressive 8 birdies in his third round, all on the card by the 14th tee but tripped up with a double bogey on hole 10 and a bogey on hole 17 over the 7245 yards par 72 layout.
The UAE-based golfer said, "I had five holes of the second round to play. After the suspension of play I birdied the par five fifth hole, my 14th hole of the round. It's been good fun as I played well and made the birdies on my last 3 holes too."
This set Bain up for his fine third round to move up from 3rd to co-leader. Bain played the last nine of his second round in 29 and the first round of my third round in 30 - 11 birdies and an eagle in 18 consecutive holes with no bogeys.
