Dubai: The UAE national beach soccer team continued training at Dubai Al Mamzar beach in preparation for the Arab beach soccer championships to be held in Egypt's Marsa Alam city on the Red Sea coast from July 1st to 6th.
Badr Hareb, the UAE manager, said that the team began training last month after clinching the Asian title and winning qualification to the Beach soccer world cup finals to be held in France from July 17 to 27.
"It will be a good preparation for us before taking part in the world cup finals in Marseille. There are some good standards in the Arab countries like Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait and we will benefit when playing against them," said Hareb.
Raising the profile
He said the beach soccer will get more attention in the future.
"Forming a beach soccer committee chaired by board member Rashid Al Za'abi, will be a big boost for beach soccer in the UAE. We hope a beach soccer league will be established to promote the game," said Hareb.
