Former players laud UAE team

A golden era of success beckons the UAE National football team, following the exciting 1-0 win over Oman in the final of the 18th Gulf Cup tournament, according to Khalid Al Shafar, Marketing Manager, Dubai Holding - the team's official sponsor for the last two years.

"The UAE team needs to fear no one now. The team's performances throughout the Gulf Cup have shown that UAE football is now a force to be reckoned with, not just in the GCC, but throughout the Middle East and Asia," Al Shafar said.

"After losing to Oman in the first match, the UAE team has shown great courage and determination to win the Cup on home soil."

In recognition of the team's achievement, Dubai Holding arranged for a congratulatory message to be displayed on the front of the Burj Al Arab.
