New Delhi: Virender Sehwag, captain of Delhi Daredevils, said that his team is stronger than what it looks on paper as they have some of the best domestic players.

"We have got (some of) the best Ranji Trophy players of this season. Rajat Bhatia, Shikhar Dhawan and Mithun Manhas have all performed in the domestic tournaments this season and won the Ranji Trophy for Delhi. So we got a strong team," Sehwag told reporters at the Ferozeshah Kotla Stadium after beating Rajasthan Royals by nine wickets.

"It was an easy victory for us. We did not think that we will be able to beat Royals so easily. But it happens in cricket."

Sehwag said that his job was made easy on Saturday because of experienced bowlers like Glenn McGrath and Farveez Maharoof, who was adjudged the Man of the Match for his economical spell of four overs in which he conceded just 11 runs.

"I do not need to tell them anything. I just gave the ball to them and they performed. As captain, my job becomes easier if you have such players in the side," he said.

Sehwag said that the IPL was a good platform for the young players to show their skills. "There is a big gap between domestic competition in India and international matches. The youngsters will get a chance to get used to the pressure playing in front of packed stadiums."
