Ajman: Eurocon Alubond's Rizwan Ahmad, who won the man of the final and man of the tournament awards in the Ajman Ramadan tournament, has represented Pakistan in One-day cricket.
It was his brilliant all-round performance that helped Eurocon stop Emirates Islamic Bank in the final.
"I am delighted with my form especially on my first tour of the UAE. I am very impressed with the tough competition here and I want to return next year too for the Ramadan tournaments," Ahmad told Gulf News.
Ahmad won so many man of the match awards that his teammates had to help him hold his trophies. The trophies seemed like birthday gifts for Ahmad, who turns 30 tomorrow.
"It was an experience playing on Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and Ajman wickets. Abu Dhabi wicket is excellent, Sharjah outfield is a bit slow and Ajman outfield and wicket is too fast. I adjusted well in all the venues," he said.
Ahmad, who played for Pakistan against Zimbabwe in February this year under Shoaib Malek's captaincy, is hoping to return to the Pakistan team soon.
"I am inspired with my performance here and I will continue to work hard," he said.
Talking about his knock in the final, he said: "Twenty20 is not about blind hitting. I waited for the lose ball and went for my shots. My aim was to set a big total for my team."
Ahmad who represents Hyderabad in Pakistan's domestic cricket has scored six centuries and 21 half centuries in first class matches. He scored 217 runs and took eight wickets in the Ajman tournament.
