Abu Dhabi Avis Rent-A-Car and William Hare Abu Dhabi Gymkhana posted contrasting victories in the ongoing Abu Dhabi Cricket Council President's Cup tournament being played at the ADCC grounds.

While Avis thrashed Al Dar by 206 runs to record their third win in the tournament, Abu Dhabi Gymkhana scored their second win with a narrow 18-run win over Al Muhairi CC.

Four wickets

Nithin Gopalakrishnan was the hero of the Avis win with a fine all-round display.

Gopalakrishnan (86) and Ravi Verma (85) posted 251 from their allotted 40 overs and skittled out Al Dar to a paltry 45 in 16.5 overs. Gopalakrishnan and Ameer Mirza opening the bowling took four wickets between them to have Al Dar reeling at four for 24, from which they never recovered.

Al Muhairi's Kamran Shehzad took five for 24 to dismiss Abu Dhabi Gymkhana for 219, but his effort went in vain as his side was bowled out for 202 with an over to spare.

In another match, Atlas Telecom bounced back get the better of ABN AMRO by 30 runs.

Sajjad Saeed played a stellar role by stroking a valuable 60 and claiming four for 27 from four overs for the winners. His 44-ball knock contained four fours and three sixes, and it helped his team to post 227 in 37.5 overs. ABN could only manage 197 in their run chase.
