Dubai: The International Cricket Council (ICC) will decide on the venue for the 2013 Champions Trophy during the two-day ICC Chief Executives' committee meeting commencing in Dubai on Monday.
The ICC successfully staged the 2009 Champions Trophy in South Africa from September 22 to October 5 after Pakistan, who was allotted this event could not stage it due to security threats.
With 2011 World Cup matches being moved out of Pakistan, it is uncertain whether Pakistan will get another opportunity to host this championship. The executive meeting will also discuss the location and scheduling of ICC events to be held after 2015.
The executives' committee meeting will be held under the chairmanship of Haroon Lorgat, the ICC chief executive and will be attended by David Morgan, the ICC President and Clive Lloyd, the ICC Cricket Committee Chairman.
Updated report
The meeting will study an updated report on preparations for the 2011 World Cup.
It will also discuss reports on match officials' performance in international matches and the Decision Review System (DRS).
Following extensive trials, the DRS went into operation during the New Zealand-Pakistan Test series in Dunedin and Australia-West Indies Test in Brisbane.
Discussions will also be held on the global response to broadcast piracy, and the anti-racism and anti doping codes.
