Abu Dhabi: NPCC made it three-out-of-three in the A Division table of the inter-oil companies' cricket with a three-wicket win over bottom-placed National Drilling Company (NDC) here at the council grounds on Saturday.
Having restricted NDC to149 for 7 in the allotted 25 overs, they knocked off the winning runs in 16.5 overs, losing 7 wickets - thanks to a splendid 54 from middle order batsman Tahseen Haider.
Haider's 33-ball knock contained 5 fours and a couple of sixes. He also shared a valuable 86-run stand for the fifth wicket with Iqbal Khan (24), an ADCC press release said.
Adco recorded their first win in three matches defeating Adma Opco by 22 runs in an earlier clash in the same division. They posted 199 for four and restricted Adma Opco to 178 for nine.
Prakash Kumar and Mumtaz Hussain were the architects of their victory. Prakash hit 61 and took three for 28 from his quota of five overs and Hussain made 65 and bagged two for 29 from his five overs.
Borouge kept their hopes alive for a semifinal berth by defeating Zadco by 100 runs in a B Division game.
Mohammad Saleem and Yasir Abdullah hit half centuries for Borouge to post 202 in 24.1 overs. In reply, Zadco were skittled out for 101. Harshan Lakmal picked up 3 for 24 from 5 overs.
