Dubai: It is the tradition of all Asian countries to sack their captains when the team sink. Mahendra Singh Dhoni hasn't won a major tournament for India since the 2007 Twenty20 World Cup and a sword is now hanging over his captaincy.
Dhoni was considered a captain who did everything right, but that ability has started to fade. Questions are being asked about his bowling changes and shuffling of the batting order during the recent Twenty20 World Cup.
If Dhoni does not regain his magic touch during the Asia Cup in Sri Lanka then selectors may be forced to look for another captain. Virender Sehwag is already being talked about as the next captain if Dhoni does not regain his winning ways.
A new captain may need time to get acquainted with his position and hence if Dhoni fails to win the Asia Cup, a new captain will be appointed immediately to groom him for the 2011 World Cup.
