Australia took a series-clinching 4-2 lead in the seven-match limited-overs series against India after pace bowlers Doug Bollinger and Mitchell Johnson ripped through the host's top order on the way to a six-wicket victory.

Bollinger had figures of 5-35 and Johnson claimed 3-39 to bundle India out for 170 in 48 overs in the sixth one-dayer. Australia then reached 172 for the loss of four wickets in 41.5 overs to clinch the series.

India slumped to 27-5 as Australia repeated its winning performance of 2007 in the last one-day series it played in India.

Ricky Ponting's injury-hit team, which saw five players return home from this tour to recuperate, also avenged its loss in the finals of the 2008 Australian tri-series to India.
