Dubai: Two young bowlers bagged hat-tricks in the Maxtalent inter school cricket tournament.

Vineet Anchan of Al Ain Junior School took the first hat-trick against Our Own School, Al Warqaa in the Under-13 tournament for Pehla Cup. His spell of 3 for 5 could not stop Our Own School from recording a 98 run victory.

In the under-17 tournament for the Apparel Cup, Hameed Khan of New Indian School Umm Al Quwain took a hat-trick against Our Own English School Ali Ain. His effort also went in vain as Our Own School defeated New Indian School by 61 runs.

In the Dulsco Corporate Cricket Tournament being played under floodlights at Zabeel Park Dubai, Al Hathboor squeezed past Trident International Holdings by five runs.

Electing to bat first, Al Hathboor piled up 173, thanks to Hemanth's half-century, and later bowled out Trident for 168.

The 20-over tournament is being organised by Dulsco Sorts Club under the auspices of the Dubai Cricket Council and in association with the Dubai Municipality.

Al Hathboor began badly losing their opener Bibin for zero with the scoreboard on two. They suffered another setback when one-down Sunil departed after contributing just six runs. However, the other opener Hemanth got help from his colleagues and took the score to 173 which included 27 extras. Hemanth scored 72 from 37 balls and hits five boundaries and six sixes during his stay at the crease. Jay Maran (20), Amjad (15) and Vittal (10) were the other contributors as they lost eight wickets in setting up a 174-run victory target for Trident.

Asas Sayeed Kureshi claimed three wickets for 26 runs while Samir Sinha was the other successful bowler for Trident with three wickets for 36 runs.

Dulsco beat Jashanmal by eight wickets in a low-scoring match.
