Abu Dhabi: With the third annual Abu Dhabi Adventure Challenge — the gruelling, six-day, multi-discipline 428-kilometre endurance race — reaching its halfway point on Monday, the battle for supremacy between the 40 teams continues as they tackle the vast Rub Al Khali (Empty Quarter).

Currently 60 kilometres into the two-day section of the Adventure Challenge, New Zealand outfits, Team Qasr Al Sarab and ADCO, continue to set the pace.

Two-time defending Kiwi champions, Team Qasr Al Sarab reached the half-way marker in a time of 13:38:27, with ADCO on 14:04:41.
