The recent numerous archaeological discoveries across the UAE make it important to preserve and highlight this heritage. The Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage (Adach) is organising a two-day conference called ‘Archaeology of the United Arab Emirates' which begins today.

"There are many projects currently under way at Adach that aim to preserve both our tangible and intangible heritage," Mohammad Khalaf Al Mazroui, Adviser for Culture and Heritage in the Court of the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Director General of Adach, said.

Panellists will discuss tools of preserving heritage, including the latest technology. The conference will also bring to the fore the recent discoveries made across various emirates.

No doubt, covering heritage from an academic perspective is essential, but it is also important that this information and knowledge is passed on to the younger generation as it constitutes a part of their history.
