It is possible you don't care about the fate of Harry Potter and company. But a lot of people do, which is why they got up at unusual times of the day to be among the first to buy the seventh, and likely the last, in the series concerning the young wizard.

Whatever your feelings about magic, or even the hoopla surrounding the success of all the books and films, one thing that can be attributed to author J.K. Rowling is that she has been able to introduce many young people (and not so young) to the delightful pleasure of reading and all the creativeness it inspires.

Antagonists of the "seven wonders of the word" - often those who have not read any of the books - may harbour a grudge at Rowling's (financial) success. But fans will argue they're just wild about Harry.
