Dubai's RTA has gone to great lengths to cater to travellers with special needs
Authorities in Dubai are to be commended for their efforts to ensure that the public transport system meets the requirements of those with special travel needs.
According to Abdul Moshin Ebrahim, the CEO of strategy and corporate governance for Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), all of the emirate's buses, taxis, Metro and marine services meet mobility requirements for people with special needs.
And the RTA is also in the process of ensuring that all of its footpaths and roads are adapted to meet the needs of those using wheelchairs.
People with disabilities face unimaginable challenges on a daily basis in completing tasks that most people take for granted.
Having a transport system that fully meets their needs removes some of these daily challenges, making their lives better. And having a government agency fully committed in words and action to meeting these needs is a step in the right direction. Well done to the RTA.
