International City is not a cesspool
For the past two weeks, residents of International City in Dubai have been living a miserable life. The reason? A flood of sewage right outside their homes. Our reports state that an entire car park, roads and pavements are now submerged under the stinking sewage — posing a health risk and causing a major parking problem.
This is unfair to the people who have invested their money to live there. They should at least be receiving minimum standards of health and safety. It is especially disappointing that even though this problem started in April, it remains unresolved till this day.
What's happening in International City is reflective of the poor planning of the sewerage system by its developer. Having approximately 60,000 residents and with a capacity of more than 100,000, there needs to be an end to this immediately. At a time when Dubai is advancing so rapidly and development is all around us, these things should not be happening.
