The planet is facing a catastrophe. If no cohesive global action is taken to combat climate change, then about one in seven of the global population will be forced to leave their homes by 2050. That is the stunning conclusion of a report by Christian Aid, who have been monitoring the impact of environmental change across the planet. The Middle East will be at the forefront of weather-change consequences as water and other resources become ever more scarce. The report's conclusion cannot be easily dismissed. The authors make clear that while prediction as an exact science is still a work in progress, it is clear that there will be a massive shift of humans, placing enormous strain on resources and countries, unless there is a united international approach.

Time is running out. The consequences of inaction can already be seen and felt in the longer droughts and more severe storm plaguing certain regions.
