Abu Dhabi: Rolls-Royce Motor Cars yesterday unveiled the Phantom Coupe in Abu Dhabi, priced at Dh2.6 million (ex-showroom), aimed at connoisseurs who demand the ultimate in car performance and style, its local dealer told Gulf News.

The event marked the model's debut in the Middle East. The Rolls-Royce cars are manufactured in Goodwood, located southwest of England. With the introduction of Phantom Coupe, the model line-up of Rolls-Royce now consists of four models.

Increased production

Kadhim Al Helli, brand manager of Abu Dhabi Motors, the only authorised dealer for Rolls-Royce in the emirate, said the dealership aims to sell at least 35 per cent more Rolls Royce cars this year than the 48 they sold in 2007.

"We are the third-biggest dealers for Rolls-Royce in the world by sales after Beverly Hills and London and in the Middle East region, we stand first," Al Helli said.

He said Rolls-Royce sold 1,010 cars worldwide in 2007 and soon there will be a substantial increase in the car's production.

A brand new production line is being built in Goodwood to meet the increased global demand for their custom-built cars, said Al Helli.

"There's a long waiting list for Rolls-Royce cars. One has to wait 10 months to get the delivery," claimed Al Helli.

The gasoline-driven Phantom Coupe boasts a 6.75 litre V12 engine that produces 453 bhp and 720 Nm of torque.

Rolls-Royce has 81 dealers around the world and currently nine showrooms in the Middle East region.

"The first Coupes are being handed over these days to customers throughout the region," said a statement from Rolls-Royce.
