Boy suffering from thalassaemia goes on a police patrol as a captain and issues traffic fine

Abu Dhabi: Lieutenant General Shaikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, has fulfilled the wish of Amir Mohammad Al Falahi, a five-year-old with thalassaemia, to become a captain in the police force and perform the work and duties of an officer.
Shaikh Saif received Al Falahi who was wearing a police uniform with the rank of captain, exchanged a police salute and conversed with the boy.
Abu Dhabi Police allowed Amir access to its facilities and took him on a patrol tour through the streets of Abu Dhabi, where he symbolically issued a traffic violation ticket to an offending driver.
Al Falahi expressed his happiness at achieving his wish to become a police officer during a welcome from the General Command of Abu Dhabi Police, which demonstrates its vision of police leadership through concern for the new generation.
Colonel Faisal Shoaibi, Director of the Department of Strategy and Performance Development at the General Secretariat of the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, met Al Falahi at his office and encouraged him to achieve excellence in his studies and to continue his success and graduate from the Police College in order to attain his wish to become a real officer.
The UAE Make A Wish Foundation helps fulfil the wishes of children who have been diagnosed with life-threatening medical conditions. The foundation accepts donations to help fulfil the dreams and wishes of children.
This is not the first time Shaikh Saif has fulfilled the wish of a child. In August 2012, Shaikh Saif and his three children visited in hospital Yousra Yasir Al Hatali, an Emirati who suffers from muscular dystrophy, a disease that weakens the musculoskeletal system and hampers movement. Earlier, Yousra had sent a letter to Shaikh Saif expressing her long-cherished wish to meet him.
