Katrina Kaif is celebrity designer Rocky S's favourite muse. In Dubai for the launch of designer shop Samsaara, the actress talks about his creations.
She may not be among the most accomplished or articulate actresses in Bollywood, but Katrina Kaif is certainly one of the prettiest.
A favourite muse of celebrity designer Rocky S, Katrina accompanied him to Dubai for the opening of Samsaara, a luxury designer wear store located in the Souk Al Bahar, Burj Dubai Old Town.
Looking ravishing in a peach Rocky S gown, Katrina posed for pictures with her fans and signed autographs. And we got the reticent star to talk to us about her views on fashion and Dubai.
Excerpts:
What do you like about Rocky S creations?
We have been working together for many years now and I find that amongst the Indian designers he has very good construction of clothes. On the screen you cannot see the details or quality of the garments we wear, but it is important to me, because to look good I have to feel good in what I am wearing. I believe that whatever one is doing, it should be done well, and I like working with Rocky because he shares that view.
What is your personal style and clothing preferences for public appearances?
My personal style is extremely casual. I am a jeans and T-shirt person. For official functions I am open minded and like to try new things. I am willing to wear whatever Rocky comes up with for the season.
There is a lot of hype about your dancing in your forthcoming film Race. Do you enjoy dancing?
Yes, we have recently shot a lovely song with all the lead actors. Unlike most song shoots in our films, choreographers Bosco and Caesar were very particular about the style. It was a lot of hard work but I am happy with the result.
Who are your favourite designers?
Besides Rocky, I like Tarun Tahiliani.
You come often to Dubai. What are your favourite spots in the city?
I love shopping at the Mall of the Emirates. I don't have any specific favourite stores. I just love to walk around and see so many different brands and items under one roof. This is something we miss in Mumbai.
What are your forthcoming projects?
I will be working with Subhash Ghai and Yashraj films. This year has been good and with four projects lined up, 2008 will be a busy year.
Anything you would like to say to your fans here?
I can't think of anything right now.
