A motorist in Dubai poses danger to other drivers by using a malfunctioning tyre on his vehicle, making it unstable.
I am a regular reader of Gulf News. Recently, on a Saturday evening, I was driving from the Clock Tower roundabout in Deira to Bur Dubai.
I noticed a vehicle in front of me that kept changing lanes without indicating once the traffic signal turned green. It seemed as if the motorist had lost control of the vehicle, because of which every motorist behind him had to be extra cautious.
I wondered why the motorist was driving in such a peculiar manner and then noticed a malfunctioning tyre on the vehicle. It was shocking!
The person driving the car should have changed the tyre and used a spare one instead. The rear wheel was not suited to his vehicle - it probably belonged to a small car - and it made the entire vehicle move in an odd, unstable manner.
Every day in newspapers, radio channels and through public service announcements, we are aware of the fact that we should check our car tyres and drive safely. It is not only our own life that is at risk, but the lives of others, too.
I hope this community report serves as a warning and an example to others - please do not indulge in practices such as this particular motorist has done. Let us all join together with the authorities to have a safe driving experience on our city's roads.
