Recently I saw this car near Discovery Gardens in Dubai. This specific stretch of road is a two-way road. The motorist had two children in his car and was driving behind me. One child was in the front seat and I am not sure whether he was strapped in or not. The other — as you can see from the picture — was leaning out of the car. The speed limit on this road is 60 km/h and I was driving at that speed. But this person overtook my vehicle, with his child leaning out dangerously all the time. Why are parents avoiding taking care of their children? One wrong swerve of the car would have easily thrown the child out. If this person cannot consider the simple responsibility of ensuring his child’s safety, then will he be driving responsibly and thinking of the safety of other road users? I think that such motorists’ driving license should be revoked. I really hope such drivers read this and in the future take care of their children and safely strap them in the back seat. This is also an eye-opener for other parents who drive with their children. It should remind us that we don’t need laws to ensure the safety of our children and other road users; it should come from the heart.
