Workers on visit visa get life ban
Abu Dhabi: People found working after entering the country on visit visas could face a life ban, according to new rules drawn up by the Ministry of Labour.
The ministry has come up with increased penalties for those who flout labour regulations to ensure that no illegal worker is part of the workforce.
Any person found to be working after entering the country on a visit visa will face a life ban while his employer would be fined Dh50,000. An employer who hires a person who is an infiltrator will be fined up to Dh100,000.
The new rules will come into effect within weeks, Obaid Rashid Al Zahmi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour, said.
