Gulf Medical University (GMU), Ajman, reinforced its reputation as a leading academic and innovation hub with the successful hosting of the GMU Career Fair & Industry Partners Meet 2025. Themed “Empowering the Next Generation of Healthcare Leaders,” the event attracted over 90 prominent healthcare organisations and drew participation from students, alumni, educators, and industry leaders.

The fair served as a dynamic platform for aspiring healthcare professionals to interact with recruiters, explore diverse career opportunities, and gain real-world insights through workshops and networking. It highlighted GMU’s ongoing commitment to bridging the gap between academic training and industry demands, preparing students for future-ready careers through innovation and strategic collaboration.

The event was inaugurated by Dr Thumbay Moideen, Founder President of Thumbay Group, who has played a pioneering role in private medical education in the region. In his keynote address, Dr. Moideen emphasized the need for agile, technology-driven professionals in today’s healthcare landscape. “At GMU, we are not only delivering education — we are shaping global healthcare leaders driven by ethics, innovation, and a commitment to excellence,” he noted.

A series of insightful panel discussions followed, featuring GMU leadership including Prof. Manda Venkatramana, Acting Chancellor, and Prof. Hesham Marei, Acting Vice Chancellor – Academics. The panels addressed critical topics such as career readiness, healthcare education reforms, and evolving industry expectations. HR experts and executives from leading hospitals and healthcare firms conducted workshops on CV writing, interview preparation, and professional development, empowering students with practical tools for career success.

Interactive booths and pavilions showcased renowned healthcare providers including Aster, NMC, King’s College Hospital Dubai, American Hospital, Julphar, and Abbott. Government bodies like Emirates Health Services (EHS), Dubai Police, and Ajman Municipality also participated, reflecting the event’s inclusive vision and strong public-private synergy.

The Industry Partners Meet spotlighted GMU’s latest initiatives aimed at future-proofing medical education. Key highlights included the integration of AI-driven modules into healthcare curricula, the launch of entrepreneurship incubators, and global academic partnerships designed to enhance student exposure and innovation. These advancements, supported by GMU’s cutting-edge Thumbay Medicity campus and robust research infrastructure, further solidify the university’s role as a trailblazer in healthcare transformation across the region.
