For Valentine's Day, Glenn Perry will present a charity concert in aid of disadvantaged children. The solo unplugged dinner concert will be held at the Ramada Hotel in Dubai tomorrow night. At the concert Perry will render songs of romance. Perry will also sing his hit song Tonight, his romantic ballad that was extensively featured on MTV.

Perry says that Valentine's Day is a day for lovers to show their love for each other and that this Valentine's Day concert is a tribute of his sincere love for underprivileged children. The main aim of this concert is to help these children escape poverty and to give them a brighter future.

Above all, what these children need is just a little bit of love, and Valentine's Day is the perfect occasion.

"Every February we celebrate Valentine's Day by giving flowers, candy and cards to those we love. We do this in honour of Saint Valentine," Perry said.

Legend of Valentine

Legend says that Saint Valentine was a priest who served during third century Rome. There was an Emperor at that time by the name of Claudius II, who decided that single men made better soldiers than those who were married. So he banned marriage for young men hoping to build a stronger military base. Valentine decided this was not fair and he chose to secretly marry young couples. When Claudius II found out about Valentine's actions he killed him.

Another legend has it that Valentine was an imprisoned man who fell in love with his jailor's daughter. So the jailor killed him. But before he was put to death he sent the first "Valentine" by writing a letter to her signed "Your Valentine".

The event
