Hrithik Roshan got doubly lucky at this year's IIFAs, winning the awards for best actor (Jodhaa Akbar) and style icon. The actor spoke to tabloid! about what makes him tick.
How special is this IIFA?
The 10th IIFA Awards has been extra special. 10 is my lucky number as I am born on the 10th of January.
This is the 10th year of IIFA Awards, I have entered into the 10th year of my career and on the 10th year of my wedding, I am walking the ramp with my wife [Suzanne Khan].
Was injuring yourself on set worth all the awards that you got?
On hindsight, I think it is certainly worth every pain that I have gone through. They say there is no gain without any pain, and with each award, all the pain has vanished.
Would you have been disappointed if you had not won these awards?
I have seen my father [film director Rakesh Roshan] at close quarters who is very fit at 60 and I wonder what keeps him so motivated. Then I realised it is desire to do good films and be passionate about it.
I don't know if I can be like him, but at least I try to be like him. And so, coming to awards, I would have been very disappointed, but I would have realised that I still need to polish my craft and there is scope for improvement.
The goal of winning awards will always be there, just the method and motivation need to be more streamlined and concentrated.
Are you a stylish person or are you aware of the latest trends?
Not at all. I am not stylish and I have no idea about style. My wife dresses me, so I will have to add her name next to my name at the base of the trophy. She is the one responsible for this award.
