More than 150 families recently attended the Jumeirah English Speaking School (JESS) Secondary Open Day.
The event gave parents and students an opportunity to meet teaching staff, talk to students, view a range of activities, witness state-of-the-art facilities in operation and learn about life as a JESS Secondary School student.
Officials said the Open Day gave families the opportunity to see one of the few non-profit schools in Dubai, dedicated to fostering a community of caring, lifelong learners as well as providing an academic curriculum that develops a broad knowledge base, while promoting the skills of critical and creative thinking.
They added that visiting a working school is the only way to get a true impression of its feel and to assess whether it is where students will excel and be happy.
Visiting families spoke of the positive spirit of the current students, their pride in the school and their impressive involvement during the Open Day.
Visitors met the enthusiastic teaching staff who were carefully selected from a wide variety international and United Kingdom schools for their experience and motivation.
They also had the opportunity to view activities and demonstrations alongside the students in state-of-the-art facilities.
