Demi Lovato new X Factor judge: Report

Following in the footsteps of Britney Spears, former Disney star Demi Lovato has signed on to be on the judging panel of the American version of singing show X Factor.

The singer, who checked out of rehab last year, will join Spears and previous season’s judges Simon Cowell and LA Reid, according to TMZ.com.

Both Lovato and Spears were expected to make formal announcements on Monday evening in the US.

The first season of the X Factor last year fell short of its predicted ratings win.

Cowell, the show’s creator, has since scrambled to renew interesting by dumping judges Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger along with host Steve Jones.
