Shah Rukh Khan is moonstruck

Dubai: A bizarre birthday gift has landed on Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan’s doorstep.

In honour of his 44th birthday on Monday, the Lunar Geographic Society has named a crater on the moon after him. With the world and the moon at his feet, Khan has also got a star-struck Australian fan buying pieces of land in his name. The Om Shanti Om star spoke about it at a recent interview and expressed his delight at having a global fan base.

"Yes, an Australian lady buys a little land on the moon for me every year on my birthday. She has been buying it for a while now. We also exchange e-mail. I get these certificates from the Lunar Republic Society," Khan told a newspaper.

Khan is also a notable owner of a property on the moon and has several acres in his name.
