Jennifer Aniston's love dilemma

After enduring years of involvement in the Brad and Angelina love triangle, Jennifer Aniston has found herself in the middle of an all-new love dilemma, after her musician ex, John Mayer, told the 43-year-old Wanderlust star, ‘I made a mistake'.

And after Jen's man, Justin Theroux, cooled off on their one-year romance over her shocked reaction to Brad and Ange's engagement, even postponing their wedding plans, John stepped in with a song he'd written especially for the actress, hoping to win her back with memories of the good times they shared. 

Justin calls off the wedding

Said to have been blindsided at the emotional response the news of Brad's engagement unleashed in Jennifer, Justin has put the brakes on the pair's wedding plans, with pals saying that the private actor didn't want to get dragged further into the world's most famous love triangle.

"Justin said it would be best if they indefinitely postponed their wedding plans," spilled an insider. "He doesn't want to be drawn any deeper into the twisted soap opera of Jen, Brad and Angie."

And with sources saying Jen "collapsed" after she heard that Brad had popped the question, Justin was left shocked at the strength of her feelings, and has been telling pals he wants to return to settle in New York after moving to LA to be with Jen.

"This was going to be Jen's big year for love and happiness," added the source. "She and Justin were knee-deep in wedding preparations when Jen got the shattering news that Brad and Angie were announcing their engagement and making plans to wed this year." 

Secret texts to John Mayer

Left reeling over 40-year-old Justin's wedding U-turn, when Jen discovered that John, who she dated on and off from February 2008 to March 2009, had written a song about their break-up, pals of the Friends star say she downloaded it immediately.

"When Jen heard [that John had] written a song about their split, she downloaded it and listened and became pretty emotional," spilled a source of Mayer's latest track, Shadow Days. "Despite their tempestuous relationship, Jen has very happy memories of her time with John, and the song got her thinking about them."

After listening to the track, which features the lyrics, "But you find yourself alone/ Just like you found yourself before/ Like I found myself in pieces/ On the hotel floor/ Hard times have helped me see/ I'm a good man, with a good heart," insiders say Jen texted John, telling him she thought the song was "beautiful", with the 34-year-old musician instantly replying.

"He texted her back straight away," spilled a mole. "They hadn't been in contact for a long time, but it was immediately as if they had only spoken yesterday. It was obvious John still has feelings for her." 

Jen ‘blames Angelina' for Justin cooling off

Upset over Justin stepping back from the relationship, Jen has turned her fury on newly engaged Angelina, apparently telling pals the pair engineered the announcement to steal the spotlight over her wedding plans.

"She wholeheartedly believes that Angie engineered the timing of the engagement announcement to Brad to get in another dig. Jen is more furious than heartbroken," a mole told The Enquirer. "She feels like she's been stabbed in the back all over again, after enduring the pain of having Angie steal her husband seven years ago." Adding, "Jen and Justin's marriage would have been the wedding of the year, but Angie went and hijacked Jen's special moment. Now Jen wants revenge. She wants to get back at Angelina for overshadowing her once again."

And Justin putting the brakes on what would have been their star-studded nuptials has been the icing on the cake for the Horrible Bosses star's recent run of bad luck, after her movie with Theroux, Wanderlust, tanked at the box office, and her recent New York property spending spree saw the star lose Dh1.8 million after she sold her two Manhattan apartments at a loss.

"She thought she was ready to relocate to New York to be with Justin and bought the properties as an investment," said a source. "After realising that she missed LA too much and that the move had failed, Jen sold the apartments but lost money." Adding, "It's been a bad few months. Plus, she hasn't had a hit movie in a very long time - it's all taking its toll."

Gerard's calls to Jen

Adding to the pressure cooker that is Jen's life right now, is her Bounty Hunter co-star - and rumoured ex - Gerard Butler, who's post-rehab, hard-partying ways have left the actress constantly worrying about the Scottish star.

After a rumoured dalliance with Lindsay Lohan and a trip to music festival Coachella, where he was spotted with a mystery brunette, 42-year-old Gerard has refused to lie low after leaving rehab in February where he was being treated for substance abuse of pain killers.

"Gerard hasn't come up for air since leaving rehab," an insider told The Enquirer. "He's out three-to-five nights a week and partying harder than ever. He's flirting with disaster." Adding, "Gerard's friends all think he's setting himself up for trouble. Jen and Charlize [Theron] are both trying to convince him to treat himself to a long vacation in a remote spot where he won't be tempted by booze and women. Jen even got Justin to invite Gerard to tag along on sober, guys-only outings with his family-oriented buddies. Everyone is praying Gerard doesn't crash and burn again."
