Trick: Make a pre-selected card rise up magically

Watch and learn how to master the art of wizardry

• Take a pack of cards and secretly remember which card was at the bottom, let’s say the ace of spades.
• Now spread out a pack of cards and ask a friend to select a card — any card.
• Cut the entire pack into two sets, making sure your ace of spades is still on the bottom of the other set.
• Now, take the other set (not the one with the ace of spades) spread it out again and ask the friend to put the selected card on top of the set.
• Bring back your first set (with the ace of spades) and put it on top of the set on the table.
• The ace of spades is now directly on top of the card your friend has selected.
• Take the entire set now and look at the deck.
• You will know exactly which card has been selected.
• Pretend that you’re shuffling the cards and try and place the selected card on top of the set.
• Now show your friend the face of the deck.
• Remember the selected card is now on top.
• Use your index finger and with a flourish, let the selected card magically rise.
