Award aims to honour outstanding contributions of business and professional women in the UAE
Dubai: Dubai Quality Group (DQG) is preparing to launch the seventh Emirates Businesswomen's Awards (EWA) on Wednesday at the Raffles Hotel in Dubai.
The award, which is held annually under the patronage of Shaikh Ahmad Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman of Dubai Airports and Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates airline and Group, aims to honour outstanding contributions of business and professional women in the UAE.
The EWA seeks to highlight the contributions of business and professional women. Winners are chosen on the basis of several criteria including leadership, future goals, financial performance, achievements at the level of professional and functional performance, social contributions and innovation.
EWA aims to encourage women to participate in the process of the country's economic development.
Participation of the Emirates Women's Award is open to nationals and expatriate women.
Criteria
There are two main categories: business owners and professionals.
Criteria for the business owners are as follows; the applicant should own a private business in the UAE and have run the business for a minimum of three years.
For professionals, the applicant must be employed in any professional sector in the UAE and have worked in the country for a minimum of three years.
All candidates of the Emirates Women's Award will get guidance from last year's winners.
