Ecos to run 'green' hotel at Dubailand
Dubai: Ecos Hotels, the Middle East's first environment-friendly budget brand, signed a deal to manage a new property in Dubailand on Thursday.
Shaikh Mohammad Bin Faisal Al Qasimi, vice-chairman, Hospitality Management Holdings, said, "In developing Ecos Hotels we are driven by sustainability and environmentalism in the budget hotels sector. Ecos Dubailand will serve as a model for our future developments."
Ecos offers a new perspective in the budget segment with a lot of focus on technology and design too.
Economical design
Ralph Noblet, director, Ecos Hotels, said, "Ecos Hotels is designed to lead the way in demonstrating that ecological can be economical. While offering top return on investment in record time for our owners and investors, we ensure best value for money to our customers."
Ecos Dubailand will feature 234 rooms and is expected to be ready by 2009.
Ralph said, "Our site is located within one of the 3 tower cluster nodes at Dubailand residence complex, each supported with community and neighbourhood facilities and plenty of open spaces.
Inward orientation
"All rooms will be oriented inwards facing the green heart which would offer not only protection from any kind of noise and harsh sun but also privacy and comfort for the tired traveller."
Studies suggest that budget hotels market is expected to grow significantly over the next 20 years. At the same time issues relating to the environment and social responsibility are increasingly starting to influence travellers. It provides the ideal scenario for Ecos Hotels. Ralph said,
"We offer a rare combination. Budget hotels are definitely the fastest growing segment and so is the demand for eco-friendly projects. Ecos Hotels is proud to offer both. Basically, it is the perfect product for the environmentally-conscious consumer."
