Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi Municipality (ADM), the capital's largest master developer, has added a new master plan to its Emerald Gateway business district portfolio.

The business district, located at the entrance of the capital city between the Bein Al Jesrein area and the Officers Club, comprises about 88 towers.

The plots will be allocated to local private investors who are required to follow strict guidelines set by the municipality for construction.

"We have specific standards to be followed by private investors who have already received the plots, taking into consideration the flow of traffic and environmental concerns, " Salah Al Sarraj, director of city planning at ADM, said.

"We have already assigned a project manager to follow up the construction, granting him the right to select a special consultant," he added.

Other master plans include South of Shamkha project, Mohammad Bin Zayed Commercial City, where infrastructure development and the design process are on.

The development of Khalifa City A, the area between Maqta and Sas Al Nakhl, and Mussafah is also in progress.

"Mussafah area is split into two major parts, one is under the administration of Zonescorp, while the other part is under the municipality's administration," the official said.

"There are directives to shift the general framework of allocations at Mussafah towards more specialised industrial districts in terms of weight, where heavy industries are to be clustered together, in addition to a central services area including restaurants and facilities," he added.
